The book is a philosophical examination of the concept of information - written as a series of letters to the grandson of the author, Ion Irimie. The Romanian philosophy professor, who is over 80 years old, not only analyzes the technical and mathematical definition of the term, but also presents information as a fundamental category of thought and reality. The starting point is the realization, that information is a simple yet highly complex phenomenon - in technology, biology, communication, and human consciousness. Das Buch ist eine philosophische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Begriff Information - als Briefserie verfasst an den Enkelsohn des Autors Ion Irimie. Der über achtzigjährige rumänische Philosophieprofessor analysiert dabei nicht nur die technische und mathematische Definition des Begriffs, sondern stellt Information als fundamentale Kategorie des Denkens und der Wirklichkeit vor. Ausgangspunkt ist die Erkenntnis, dass Information ein einfaches und zugleich hochkomplexes Phänomen ist - in der Technik, in der Biologie, in der Kommunikation und im menschlichen Bewusstsein.
